Heroes with Heart is a fundraising event and community celebration that benefits the Trauma Intervention Program (TIP). This event recognizes the courage and compassion of first responders and TIP volunteers. Nominated heroes from greater Portland police and fire departments and area hospitals are honored for their dedication and service in the face of traumatic events. The fourth annual Heroes With Heart event will be held Friday, February 27, 2009. Click here for more information about this event.

The Christian Chenard Walk With The Ones You Love
The Christian Chenard Walk With The Ones You Love is an event of the Maine SpeakOut Project (MSOP), and promotes the vision of a Maine where all families and couples are equally safe to walk in public. This is a positive, community building event that celebrates the diversity of our community. Walks take place annually at several locations throughout Maine. The Portland Walk took place June 15 at Deering Oaks Park in Portland. Click here for more information.

The Out of Our Pantries cookbook features over 150 diverse and delicious recipes from SpeakOut volunteers, advisory committee members and community supporters. Proceeds from the cookbook benefit Maine SpeakOut Project. Click here for ordering information.
